The day came. 20 episodes of Korean Drama “ROOFTOP PRINCE” ended today. The drama started off with many many laughters… then it got serious in the middle… and ended off with some laughters in the last episode as well as some really sad scenes, and finally, our very “open-ended” ending which I was quite satisfied with. I knew going into this drama that the concept was not just “time travel” but rather “reincarnation” and “LOVE that transcends even after 300 years” so I wasn’t surprised at the ending. I believe that the whole drama was basically a life lesson and a second chance given by fate to prevent the past from repeating itself in the present — thus the time travel. It was not a journey to live in the present as many people had hoped for. It was to teach you who you were supposed to be with and who you will be with again in the next lifetime. That’s why I was okay with the ending… because both understood how deep their love was for one another… knowing that even after 100, 300 years, they’ll still love each other. SATISFIED.
